Siri and Shortcuts

Siri understands Twos on its own now. There is nothing to build. Install the app, sign in, and start talking.

Before you start#

• iOS or iPadOS 16 or later (17 or later for the buttons in Siri's cards)
• The Twos app installed and signed in

What you can say#

None of these open the app. The answer comes back in a Siri card, and the card's buttons work too: check off a to-do, or undo a save.

The older phrases still work: "Remember something in Twos", "Add a to-do to Twos", "Add to a list in Twos" and "Ramble in Twos".

In your own words (iOS 27)#

On iOS 27, Siri understands Twos without set phrases. Say it however you like, and end with "in Twos":

• "Remind me to call mom tomorrow at 5 in Twos"
• "Add eggs to Groceries in Twos"
• "Mark buy milk done in Twos"
• "Make a note called Gate codes in Twos", then "add 4417 to my gate codes note"
• "Create a list called Packing in Twos"
• "What did I write about the trip?"

To-dos work like reminders and every other thing works like a note. With no list named, it goes to your default add list, or today. Siri finds your recent things, but never ones in a locked list or blurred ones, and nothing at all while Let Siri read your Twos is off.

Saving what is on screen#

Open an email, a message thread or a web page, then say "save this to Twos". The text lands as a thing in the list you name.

• Name the list in the same breath ("save this to Work in Twos") and nothing is asked.
• Leave it out and Siri asks "Which list?". Twos never guesses a list for you.
• Add a time in the Shortcuts app action, or say "remind me about this" and Twos picks up any date in the text, the same way auto-detect does when you type.
• Undo from the card moves the thing to Trash, exactly like deleting it in the app.

Privacy#

Siri reads your things out loud, so reading has its own switch: Settings → Integrations, then Siri, then Let Siri read your Twos.

• Your phone has to be unlocked. Nothing is read from the lock screen.
• Locked lists stay locked. Siri says the list is locked and reads nothing from it, and to-dos in a locked list never show up in "today".
• Blurred things are never read. They count toward the total and show as Hidden.
• With an app passcode, reading starts off. The passcode is a promise that nothing shows without the code, so Siri waits until you turn reading on yourself.
• Twos Chat follows your AI settings. If AI features or chat are off, Siri says so rather than answering.

Saving through Siri always works, even with reading off, because saving reveals nothing.

Your own Shortcuts#

Rather say it all in one breath? The built-in phrases ask a follow-up ("What do you want to remember?"), because Apple does not let a spoken phrase carry free text. The ready-made Add to Twos shortcut does not: it saves whatever you say after its name. Get it from the Add Siri Shortcut button on the Siri settings screen.

Every Twos action is also a building block in the Shortcuts app. Chain "Today's To-Dos" into a morning routine, or run "Save to Twos" from a share sheet automation. Open Shortcuts, tap +, and search for Twos.

Tips#

• If Siri runs the wrong action, say the whole phrase, including "in Twos". Short phrases are easier for Siri to confuse with another app.
• List names work best when they are distinct. "Groceries" is easy to hear. "List 2" is not.
• Ask Twos from the lock screen. Add the Ask Twos control to your lock screen or Control Center. It opens Twos Chat already listening, so you just talk. To hear the answer without opening the app, put a shortcut with the "Ask Twos" action on the lock screen or the Action button instead.
